University of Zimbabwe Innovation Hub – Research and Innovation Directorate: Vacancy
The post of Director, Innovation Hub has emerged in the University of Zimbabwe Innovation Hub.
Reports to: Executive Director, Research and Innovation in the Vice Chancellor’s Office
Duties include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Innovation Hub.
- Creating a conducive environment and platform to launch researchers and interns into the research-innovation-industrialisation ecosystem.
- Championing the development of an innovation network and partnerships in line with the University’s strategic objective to create sustainable research-innovation-industrialisation ecosystem.
- Providing strategic leadership in the organisation, utilisation and management of space, equipment and schedules of activities at the Innovation Hub.
- Providing mentorship and technical advice in the development of result-oriented Innovation Hub partnerships, systems and processes.
- Promoting an entrepreneurial ecosystem among Innovation Hub researchers, interns and partners.
- Implementing the University’s policies and procedures for operation of the Innovation Hub in line with Education 5.0
- Performing other related duties, as assigned by the Executive Director Research and Innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should have
- A minimum of a PhD in Business Administration; Governance; Public Management; Social or Natural/Applied Sciences; Accounting; Finance or equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in research, innovation and/or managing a business venture.
- Proven ability and intelligence to analyse to identify trends, issues and concepts in the technological space.
- Proven commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
- Ability to engage and interact with Public/Private sector executives
- Good communication skills.
