Job Summary
Solusi University is currently seeking a Director of Development and Public Relations to oversee the institution’s donor relations, direct and manage its funding initiatives. The DDPR must be able to think strategically, practically and realistically to implement comprehensive and results-oriented development framework in fulfilment of the institutional strategic blueprint for advancement. Critical components of DDPR’s plan should include goals, strategies, and timetables for augmenting the Solusi University Funds. These include major, capital gifts, endowment campaign, alumni giving, planned giving, matching gifts, as well as complementary focus on prospecting and tactics to build key relationships with alumni, families, and community, corporate, foundation leaders and NGOs. The DDPR must be able to work closely with Deans of Faculty and will provide oversight of all the Solusi University Strategic Business Units and is directly accountable to the Vice Chancellor for all his/her activities. The DDPR is Secretary of the Development and Public Relations Committee of the Solusi University Council.
Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the following among his/her responsibilities:
Develop the institution’s non-profit’s fund-raising campaigns
Supervise the writing of Contracts and Grants to attain self-sufficiency
Communicate effectively with funding agencies, current and prospective donors
Manage individual and corporate gifts in addition to planned and annual giving campaigns
Qualifications And Experience
INVITATION is to applicants with a strong vision and experience in (i) non-profit fundraising, (ii) development (iii) grantsmanship and who meet the following selection criteria:
1. A Seventh-day Adventist with a passion for serving the LORD in this capacity.
2. Evidence-based experience in fundraising (including grantsmanship) and public relations on local, regional and international scales.
3. Must exhibit innovative skills and competencies in striking effective collaborative partnerships for research, development and grantsmanship (revenue generation).
4. Experience with NGO and Philanthropic Organizations funding mechanics is an advantage.
