Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.

Introduction and background

Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is seeking the services of a consultant to help the organisation develop an integrated management information system (IMIS). The need for an IMIS is to support effective processing, storage and sharing of information and to adequately integrate information from different systems across departments and projects. It has become inevitable for the organisation to embrace the new reality of digital ways of data processing, storage, and archiving. Establishing a sound database system requires a professionally tailored solution that keeps data clean, organized, secure, and easily accessible for authorized users from multiple devices and locations. In line with the operationalization and organizational strengthening strategies of ZHI, a robust, modern, fully-fledged and Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) is required. The IMIS will help the organization to be fully equipped, using paperless technologies, to meet the organisation objectives. It is against this background that ZHI is seeking the services of a consultant who will help the organisation develop a database that carefully packages and stores data in a secure and reliable environment that can be integrated with other systems to reduce manual input.

Objective

To develop an IMIS that allows for data management and storage in a fast and convenient way that works both online and offline facilitating linkages to other data sources.

Scope and purpose of assignment

The purpose of the assignment is to develop an integrated management information system (IMIS). The consultant is expected to implement and deliver the scope in phases starting with the finance payments and vehicle management modules in line with the ZHI business process flows. Further, the Consultant shall be expected to develop a training manual and train key staff on the functionality of the system.
