Job Summary
The National Employment Council For Zimbabwe Schools Development Associations & Committees is looking for suitable candidates to fill the position of Designated Agent based in Harare. The incumbent will be responsible for promoting and maintaining industrial harmony in the industry by ensuring that both employers and employees observe the rules, regulations and procedures laid down in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), conducting labour inspections and resolving labour disputes in accordance with the Labour Act Chapter28:01. The incumbent reports to the General Secretary
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conciliates and arbitrates on labour disputes in accordance with the Labour Act.
- Interprets labour legislation to all stakeholders in Government and Council- run schools.
A Advises employers and employees on labour legislation.
A Assists employers and employees in the formation of Works Council Committees.
A Conducts training and labour briefingsfor members.
4 Carries out labour inspections concerning conditions of employment in Governmentand Council- run schools.
A Monthly reports writing.
A Collects levies and subscriptions and makes follow ups on defaulters
Person Specification
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications and personal attributes:
♦ A Social Science degree or equivalent.
A Adiploma in law (Conciliation and Arbitration) would be an added advantage.
A Fluent in English and Ndebele/Shona
A Clean Class 4 licence.
A Able to work with minimum supervision.
