DEPUTY DIRECTOR – ZIMSEC

ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF DEPUTY DIRECTOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the post of Deputy Director that has arisen within ZIMSEC. The Deputy Director, who reports to the Director, is responsible for coordinating activities of all Divisions. The Deputy Director will assist the Director in running ZIMSEC effectively. He/She will be responsible for budget formulation, ensuring that appropriate systems are put in place and„that Divisions spend within the budget. The Deputy Director will also be responsible for monitoring Council’s properties and property development and any Council capital projects. The monitoring of Council purchases and asset utilisation constitute critical areas of the Deputy Director’s responsibilities. The Deputy Director should have a detailed knoweldge to guide the generation of corporate documents and promotion of the corporate image. He/She should also be well versed in government policies and other legislations that affect ZIMSEC.

Duties

Deputy Director will, inter alia, be responsible for the following:

Co-ordinating functions of all Divisions within the Council in an effort to achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness. Assisting the Director in ensuring financial discipline within the organisation and ensuring that ZIMSEC members behave is exemplary and disciplined manner all the time. Planning and designing schedules of all activities of the Council so that work flows smoothly, hence avoiding bottle-necks in Divisions. Anticipating problems that might arise and advising the Director accordingly so that pro-active action is taken before damage is done.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters degree and a postgraduate qualification, preferably in education or a related field.
• A notable background of management at a senior level in education or in a related fled for not less than 10 Years
• Excellent analytical, written communication, interpersonal, organisational and presentation skies.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Experience within the Zimbabwe School Education and Examination systems will be an added advantage.
