JOB VACANCY:
A vacancy has arisen at Rural Infrastructure Development Agency in the Office of the President and Cabinet and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Deputy Director Transport, Plant and Equipment at Head Office as per the Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (Statutory Instrument 171 of 2022) as amended. This position reports to the Director Transport, Plant and Equipment. All genders are encouraged to apply
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
1. Managing and controlling all vehicles, plant and equipment, machines, aircraft, marine and radio operations
2. Implement strategies that user Departments to ensure provision of an adequate fleet in the appropriate make and model to meet their operational needs
3. Preparation of technical specifications for vehicles, plant and equipment in respect of any new procurement when need arises
4. Implement strategies that all Provincials and Districts workshops are properly equipped and providing an effective and efficient service.
5. Provide work plan for subsequent financial periods and prepare bids for procurement of plant and equipment
6. Production and submission of reports on plant and equipment on a regular basis to the Director Transport, Plant and Equipment
7. Participate on the procurement process on plant and equipment assets, all spares, consumables and lubricants
8. Manage the subordinates, development and performance of employees in the Department
9. Carrying out periodic visits to Rural Infrastructure Development Agency workshops to proffer solutions on their challenges
10. Participation on board of survey meetings and disposal of obsolete vehicles, plant and equipment
11. Managing the operations of all Rural Infrastructure Development Agency workshops in accordance with the Plant and Equipment Management policy document
12. Provide technical advice to all the divisional heads and workshop Managers
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
⦁ Bachelor degree of Technology in Operations Management or equivalent
⦁ Postgraduate qualification in relevant field added advantage
⦁ At least 2 years relevant experience on tracking vehicles
⦁ At least 2 years in a managerial position
⦁ Computer literate skills
