Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of the Ministry’s communication and advocacy policy in line with its mandate, strategic plan and national development imperatives.
- Manage multimedia content development in line with local, regional and international best practices.
- Package communication materials, including documentaries, for user Directorates.
- Coordinate the production of instructional audiovisual materials for awareness campaigns.
- Monitor multimedia production trends and best practices to support informed decision-making.
- Develop linkages with stakeholders in the media, film, publishing and music industries to enhance content development.
- Supervise, coach and counsel subordinate staff.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, New Media, Public Communication, Information Technology or an equivalent qualification.
- A Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned fields will be an added advantage.
- At least six (6) years’ experience at Officer grade or an equivalent level.
- Proven hands-on experience in editing, scanning and packaging multimedia material.
- Knowledge of the film, music and publishing industries will be an added advantage.
- Leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a production environment.
- Technical awareness of broadcast, production and IT environments.
- Self-motivation and willingness to work long hours when required.
