Desired Qualifications and Essentials

The applicant should be a holder of a relevant Doctor of Philosophy Degree. Master of Business Administration Degree and a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree from reputable and recognised institutions. He/she should also be a Registered Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant A Chartered Financial Analyst qualification will be an added advantage. The applicant should be conversant with Information Technology Skills such as Pastel evolution, Paynet and Belina

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Deputy Bursar, Finance and Investments shall include:
• To develop robust financial management and reporting processes in order to ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts and audited annual financial statements:
• To provide oversight on treasury management students’ accounts section salaries and banking liaison;
• To ensure all monthly reconciliations are performed timely and accurately.
• To have full responsibility of the budgetary control system from development of assumptions to the management of consumption:
• To ensure all registered students are billed immediately after registration and that all business activities are properly accounted; Investment appraisals and allocation of capital;
• To improve on effective communication and develop impeccable relations with all key internal and external stakeholders;
• To effectively use the Human Resources Policies of the University to actively manage all subordinates and ensure full cooperation;
• Guarantee excellence in serving the University’s stakeholders by providing support to subordinates and ensuring their continued professional development;
• To prepare timely and reasonably accurate cashflow and financial forecasts:
• To undertake other duties as required by the Bursar.
• To enhance the use of IT in eliminating manual interventions and improving efficiency of service delivery.
