Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains data (PII) records by reviewing and updating the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA);
  • Conducts and executes Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy impact audits;
  • Prepares reports and documentation by maintaining compliance records;
  • Assists audits by coordinating internal and external regulatory audits;
  • Reviews data processing by assessing the lawful basis and compliance of processing;
  • Supports regulatory reporting by participating in regulatory submissions and reporting;
  • Tracks compliance metrics by monitoring the remediation of privacy assessment findings;
  • Promotes awareness by conducting data privacy awareness initiatives;
  • Conducts data governance mapping by identifying and documenting data flows across systems;
  • Configures access controls by implementing role based and least privilege access;
  • Implements data protection and privacy by design techniques by embedding privacy controls into system development pipelines;
  • Supports system integration by embedding privacy requirements into systems;
  • Monitors data handling by enforcing the secure processing and storage of data;
  • Supports incident response by participating in the technical response to privacy incidents and documenting and reporting privacy breaches;
  • Supports compliance by aligning technical controls with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or a Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of Data Protection principles, ISO 27701 and ISO 27001;
  • Privacy by Design skills are a must;
  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and secure systems design principles;
  • Must have POTRAZ-HIT CDPO and any one of ISACA CDPSE, PECB CDPO or IAPP CIPP/E;
  • CEH or CompTIA Security+ is an added advantage;
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in a related field.
