Data Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of DATA ENGINEER which has arisen within the Judicial Service Commission. The Commission is a dynamic organization that comprises of competent and professional staff. The incumbents will be stationed at the Judicial Service Commission-Secretariat.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Engineer will assist the Head of IT and Records Management to:
- Develop and maintain datasets for the Judicial Service Commission;
- Analyze and organize raw data for the Judicial Service Commission;
- Build data systems and pipelines;
- Evaluate business needs and objectives of the organization;
- Interpret trends and patterns;
- Conduct complex data analysis and report on results to management and users;
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling;
- Build algorithms and prototypes;
- Combine raw information from different sources for decision making by management;
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability;
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition within the organization;
- Develop analytical tools and programs for the Judicial Service Commission.
COMPETENCE AND SKILLS FOR THE POST
The person must possess:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field;
- 3 Years’ experience as a data engineer or in a similar role;
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques;
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python);
- A hands-on experience with SOL database design
- A great numerical and analytical skills;
