FHI 360 has a subaward agreement with ZHI, providing technical assistance to RISE for improved quality of services and institutionalization of proven models and tools for disrupting the
main drivers of HIV risk for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). RISE project is a follow-on project, advancing AGYW interventions through the Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) approach. Given that the RISE Project is embedded in a gender equality framework, FHI 360 is supporting
the project to conduct a GESI analysis to understand and address the gender and social dynamics in HIV acquisition and prevention, including disability inclusion. The GESI analysis findings will help to address the gaps and add value to promote gender equality and social inclusion across the project components to improve project interventions and outcomes
for AGYW.

Duties And Responsibilities

Consultancy Summary: The GESI Qualitative Data Analysis and Report Production Consultant is required for the following tasks: on-site support visits to appreciate the GESI analysis data collection; review of project documents, desk review documents, GESI analysis protocol and data collection tools; lead the analysis process to gather key findings,
trends, gaps and entry points GESI integration across the project components; compile a detailed report with practical recommendations for identified gaps to be shared within the agreed timelines; support the validation and dissemination processes on key findings to stakeholders, INGOs and donor community.

Qualifications And Experience

The consultant should have at minimum an Advanced degree (Masters level) in gender/women’s studies, development studies, international relations, social sciences, law, economics or a related area. In addition, the consultant should possess the following:
• Minimum 7 years of practical and relevant experience in research and analysis on gender issues;
• Proven knowledge and experience in qualitative research on gender frameworks and policy formulation;
• Proven background and experience at international level of research or academic experience in the field of women’s rights and gender equality;
• Experience in conducting functional reviews and developing technical papers;
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to conduct and present research on sensitive topics in cross-cultural settings;
• Previous professional experience with international NGOs and/or USAID is an asset.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills;
• Language requirement: excellent command of English, particularly written; local languages an asset.
