Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in the Chisumbanje Ethanol Factory Laboratory. The successful applicant will be required to do shift work, will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and will among other duties be responsible for the following:
Duties And Responsibilities
- Analysis of cane and bagasse samples for purity.
• Oversees the preparation and analysis of cane, bagasse for pol, brix, moisture and fibre.
• Responsible for correct sampling and sub sampling of cane bagasse by DAC assistant.
• Calibration of DAC equipment before analysis and ensuring good working conditions of equipment.
• Calculation of brix, pol, moisture, PI results and reporting them to shift supervisor.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the DAC laboratory.
• Carry out analysis for reducing and total reducing sugars in juices, vinnase and waste effluent.
• Physical observation of cane stalks and tops.
• Shall be involved in day to day cane sample investigations that may be requested by the fields’ agronomist.
Qualifications And Experience
- At least a National Certificate in Laboratory Science or equivalent experience.
• At least one-year work experience as a Laboratory Assistant Analyst or any relevant.
• Should have the ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques
