Key Responsibilities
- Designs security architecture by defining security controls, standards, and secure configurations across systems and networks;
- Implements security controls by deploying firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls, and other security technologies;
- Configures security systems by setting up and maintaining firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, and related tools;
- Hardens systems and infrastructure by applying security baselines, patching, and configuration best practices;
- Manages security tools by maintaining and optimising security technologies and platforms;
- Supports vulnerability remediation by addressing findings from VAPT, audits, and SOC reports;
- Integrates security into systems by embedding controls into applications, networks, and infrastructure;
- Collaborates on SOC operations by supporting incident response through control tuning and improvements;
- Reviews security configurations by ensuring compliance with policies and standards;
- Supports compliance requirements by implementing controls aligned with ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements;
- Maintains access controls by managing identity, authentication, and authorisation mechanisms;
- Improves security posture by recommending enhancements to controls and architecture;
- Supports projects by ensuring security requirements are incorporated into new systems;
- Documents security configurations by maintaining technical documentation and standards.
Requirements
- A Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or a Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, or equivalent;
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, Defence in Depth principles and ISO 27001;
- Security Architecture Design, defensive security and Blue Teaming skills are a must;
- Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, Firewall Administration and Private Cloud Security;
- Must have a CCNA or any other network certification, and relevant firewall certifications;
- (ISC)² SSCP would be an added advantage;
- A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in the same field.
