Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Credit Union.
  • Manage lending, savings, and investment activities.
  • Grow membership, deposits, and the loan portfolio.
  • Ensure effective loan recovery and portfolio quality.
  • Prepare budgets, financial reports, and management reports for the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies that promote sustainable growth and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, IOBZ, or a Diploma in Microfinance will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 1 year’ relevant experience in a Credit Union, Commercial Bank, Building Society, or Microfinance Institution (MFI).
  • Proven experience in credit administration, loan portfolio management, savings and deposit mobilization, financial management, business development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Credit Union and microfinance operations.
  • Excellent financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
  • Good understanding of risk management and internal controls.
