Credit Controller

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced incumbents to fill in a vacancy that has arisen in a dynamic and well established insurance organisation.

Responsibilities 

• Lead the setting up of the credit control systems and policies.
• Ensure that debts are paid on time.
• Meet cash and debtor targets set by the entity.
• Chase overdue payments by telephone, email,letter and client visits within agreed timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
• Arrange regular meetings with clients to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.

• Prepare and present weekly and monthly cash flow collection forecasts in line with latest debtor’s age analysis report.
• Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness.
• Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment with agreed terms.
• Respond promptly and completely to clients and internal queries.
• Propose write off of irrecoverable debts.
• Prepare files for transfer for Debt Recovery Section / Litigation

Qualifications and Experience 

• Diploma in Credit Management/Credit Control is essential.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Credit Control Environment.
• Ability to work under timeline pressures with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail,
• Must be able to work within minimal supervision and be results oriented.
