Key Responsibilities

Safe Operation: Operate cranes (e.g., Tower, Mobile, or Overhead) to lift and move materials, equipment, or products across the site.
Pre-Operational Checks: Perform daily inspections of the crane mechanism and lifting gear to ensure everything is in optimal working order.
Load Management: Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overloading.
Signal Coordination: Work closely with riggers and banksmen, responding to hand signals or radio commands to ensure safe movement in congested areas.
Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating moving parts, and report any major defects to the supervisor.
Compliance: Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and occupational health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Licensing: Must possess a valid Class 2 Driver’s License (or equivalent) and a Specific Crane Operator’s Certificate for the equipment being operated (e.g Escort F17 crane, Crawler, or Tower crane).
Medical Fitness: A valid Medical Certificate of Fitness is mandatory, confirming excellent vision, depth perception, and hearing.
Experience: Proven experience in heavy lifting operations within construction, mining, or industrial sectors.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of load charts, weight limits, and rigging hardware.
Safety Record: A clean safety record with no history of negligent operational incidents
