Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and physically fit persons to fill in the position of Public Relations Officer that has arisen within the Municipality of Bindura.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the Municipality’s initiativesand services.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Municipality, addressing media inquiries and public concerns
• bui Id and maintain relationships with local media outlets
• Produce and distribute press releases, news articles and newsletters to inform the public about municipal activities

and events

• Organise community outreach programsand public forums to engage residentsand gather feedback
• Foster positive relationships with community, stakeholders including residents, business a nd organisations
• Provide timely information to the public during crisesto maintain transparency and trust
• Plan and coordinate municipal events in liaison with other council departments such as town halls, public meetings

and community celebrations

• Promote events to enhance community participation and awareness
• Manage the municipality’s social media accounts to disseminate information and engage with residents
• Monitor online conversations and respond to inquiries and comments
• Promote the municipality’s brand and image through various communication channels
• Ensure consistency in messaging a nd visual identity across al I platforms
• Conduct research on public opinion and community needs to inform communication strategies
• Analyse the effectiveness of public relations campaignsand adjust strategies accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Public Relations, English and Communication, Marketing and Journalism
• At least 3 years post qualification experience
