Key Responsibilities
- Drive a tipper truck to haul gravel, sand, quarry stones for road maintenance projects.
- Drive and operate a motorized water bowser for optimum application of water and / or moisture for road compaction, dust suppression for all Council construction sites.
- Ability to perform daily basic machine inspections/ checks.
- Drive refuse compactor for refuse collection in Nyanga Town.
- Drive lorry for transporting materials, equipment and staff to work sites.
- Follow approved routes and delivery schedule as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Ensure safe loading of the trucks for hydraulic tipping.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 Drivers Licence – clean disk with no endorsements and must have held it for at least two years.
- Valid defensive driving certificate from Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe
- At least 2 years experience in driving heavy vehicles e.g Tipper, Motorized Water Bowser Truck or Refuse Compactor
- A clean record with a traceable history.
- At least 30 years of age.
- At least 3 ‘O’ Level passes will be an added advantage
- An operator’s certificate for relevant equipment will be an added advantage.
