About The Organisation: A Local Human Rights Organisation That Promotes And Protects Human Rights In Zimbabwe.
Background
The global COVID-19 pandemic characterised the more significant part of 2020 and 2021. Within the context of the pandemic, several violations of civil and political rights and economic, social and cultural rights. Violence was complemented by impunity and a lack of sound infrastructure to deal with various cycles of violence which have continued to haunt citizens.
Civil Society Organisations recorded at least 1100 human rights violations between 30 March and 30 December 2020 alone. The statistics relate to incidents of abductions and torture, extra-judicial killings, assaults on citizens by law enforcement officers, attacks on journalists, unlawful arrests and gunfire. Other violations that could not sufficiently be quantified due to their high frequency include harassment, threats and intimidation.
It is against this background that a Consultant is sought to produce a documentary that exhibits the distribution of organised violence in relation to other human rights.
Objectives of the documentary
The main objectives of the video documentary are to: Raise awareness on the organised violence and torture record between 2020 to 2021; To document stories of organised violence and torture in different parts of the country.
Key deliverables and timelines
The following deliverables will be expected from the Consultant: The Consultant will prepare the script and narration for the documentary; Any data e-g, Scripts, images, clips, will be finalised in the documentary after the consultation and approval; A final documentary capturing the aforementioned objectives.
Final product
The Consultant will be expected to produce a documentary packaged and delivered in the following formats: High-resolution electronic storage format; Web size format for uploading to YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook; Mobile size format specifically for mobile applications like WhatsApp; All video to be submitted in MP4 format; The background music should resonate with the Zimbabwean context; A signature tune needs to be developed as an intro for every animation video.
Qualifications
Suitable applicants should have the following: Three examples of past video/ documentary productions they have directly designed and produced; Demonstrated competency with developing and producing videos and documentaries for video infomercials; Able to produce a VAT certificate together with the invoice for payment.

Interested candidates should: Provide a brief resume (not more than 2 pages) focusing on required skills and experience); Institutions/organisations should send an organisational profile and resume for lead consultant; Cost estimates and number of days required for the development of five animated videos.
