Development of Model Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Protocols for Children and Old People’s Homes
Background
A non-governmental organisation is implementing a project on strengthening children and old people’s homes COVID-19 pandemic response and preparedness systems. The NGO is looking for a qualified individual to undertake a consultancy in the development of model Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols for children and old people’s homes.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Consultant
To identify gaps in infection prevention and control (IPC) policies in identified children and old people’s homes in Gweru, Harare, Chinhoyi and Bulawayo; To develop a model IPC policy for children’s homes; To develop a model IPC policy for old people’s homes; To facilitate at the IPCs validation workshops; To assist in the motivation and adoption of the IPC model policies by children and old people’s home; In consultation with identified centres, the Consultant must tailor make facility-based IPC policies based on the models.
Consultant Qualifications and Experience
The Consultant must possess the following qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees; Post graduate qualification in Public Health; Prior experience in public health policy development; Good communication and writing skills; Knowledgeable on health and human rights; Experience in working in COVID-19 designated facility.
Deliverables
A model IPC policy for Children’s homes; A model IPC policy for Old People’s homes; Tailor made facility-based IPC policies for identified children and old people’s homes.
Timelines
Will be agreed on with the successful candidate(s).
Payment
Payment will only be done upon completion of the assignment.
