Compliance Accountant

Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, the job is based at Head Office and responsible for the following:

• Ensuring total tax compliance across all tax heads (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Income tax, Royalties, Unit Taxes, Mining ground levies, CGT.
• Deliver timely, accurate and reliable taxation data to Finance function.
• Compile and present periodic reports on tax performance and any developments
• Ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger.
• Prepares work papers and various reports for internal accounting and auditing.
• Ensures compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Recommends changes in accounting systems and procedures.
• Reviews the work completed by accounts payable clerks to ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Review of tax provisions.
• Implementation of tax planning arrangements.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Accounting
• Qualified Chartered Accountant /CIMA/ACCA/ Professional tax professional from a reputable tertiary institution.
• Experience liaising/engaging with ZIMRA and other statutory bodies
• At least 2 years working experience.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting and regulatory requirements.
