Domboshava MedClinic, a growing peri-urban primary healthcare facility serving the Domboshava community, invites applications from a committed and experienced Medical Practitioner for the role of Part-Time Medical Practitioner-In-Charge. This position is suited to a clinician who is passionate about maternal and child health, particularly safe baby delivery and obstetrics and gynaecology–related care, and who wishes to provide clinical leadership within a structured part-time engagement. The Medical Practitioner-In-Charge will provide overall clinical leadership and supervision of medical services at Domboshava MedClinic, with a strong focus on safe maternity care, maternal wellbeing, and child health, while ensuring ethical, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight of all medical services during scheduled sessions
- Provide clinical input and supervision related to maternal, neonatal, and child health services, including safe deliveries and obstetric care within scope
- Consult, diagnose, and manage patients in line with national clinical guidelines
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing and midwifery staff
- Ensure clinical governance, ethical practice, and accurate medical documentation
- Participate in clinical audits, protocol development, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide clinical advice and escalation support to on-site staff outside physical sessions
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) standards and inspections
Requirements
- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- Registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ)
- Valid practising certificate
- Minimum 2–5 years post-internship clinical experience
- Demonstrated interest or experience in maternal and child health, obstetrics, and gynaecological care
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience (an advantage)
- High ethical standards, professionalism, and good communication skills
