Communications & Metering Engineer (x3)

Qualifications and Experience

• A Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering
• Preferably 6 years Transmission Power Network or Metering or Communication experience.
• ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution
• Project management certification an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

• Expertise are required for the following specialties: (i) Power Network Control, (ii) Metering, and (iii) Communication
• Participates in reviews of all metering, power network control and communication designs
• Monitors critical parameters during commissioning and test runs of critical plant and equipment.
• Analyses fault records and errors generated by the SCADA and other systems and ensures that corrective action is taken during commissioning in order to achieve the targeted system availability as required.
• Controls and monitors measurement quantity & quality system equipment including audits/inspections/surveys to check compliance with relevant standards, codes of practice and Employer requirements as required.
• Arranges third party calibrations on or off site and witness when required to ensure compliance
