Duties And Responsibilities
Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for receiving, dispatching food and non-food commodities
Key duties and Responsibilities
• Receives waybills, confirms the consignee and destination details correctness
• Inspects the truck to ensure the tarpaulins and ropes are still intact before offloading
• Ensures that the pallets have been properly laid for commodities to be stacked in accordance with good warehouse practices prior to receiving commodities
• Reconstitutes, quarantines or set aside damaged commodities as instructed by the warehouse keeper
• Supervises loaders during offloading of commodities ensuring the driver and the security guard are present
• Verifies the stocks after receiving to ensure the quantities are correct and submits the waybill to the Warehouse keeper to confirm receipt
• Completes and updates the stack card after receipt of commodities
• Verifies NFI, raises GRN for non-food item receipts, submits GRN, invoice/delivery note and purchase order to Logistics Assistant for counter -signing.
• Receives the commodity dispatch plan from the Warehouse keeper and puts in place resources for dispatch as relevant
• Inspects the truck to load commodities and fills in an inspection report
• Demarcates the stack and indicates where the loading or dispatch is going to end on a stack
• Completes tally sheet whilst the commodities are being loaded in the truck
• Verifies the correct goods and quantities have been loaded for dispatch
• Ensures the driver and loaders authorized representative observes loading-tallying and signs the tally sheet
• Conveys the information to the warehouse keeper to produce the dispatched waybill
• Conducts daily physical inventory at the beginning and at the end of the day to submit to the Warehouse keeper
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications
Certificate in warehouse/stores management/purchasing and supply or equivalen
1 year experience in storekeeping or other related field
Good organisational skills
