Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above position which has arisen at Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation. The incumbent will be reporting to the Director Finance, Administration and Human Resources.
College Principal (D5)
Duties And Responsibilities
• Manages the day to day running of the College
• Oversees the management of conservation activities of the sanctuary
• Draws up curriculum for the courses offered at the college in line with Education 5.0
• Supervises examinations in liaison with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education
• Approves all expenditure under the college’s account and accounts for all revenue
• Develops and maintains tourist infrastructure at the college and sanctuary
• Ensures that college assets are properly maintained and accounted for
• Defines performance standards for academic and field staff
• Maintains high level of discipline among staff and students alike
• Promotes an innovative research culture in wildlife conservation.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
• Degree in Wildlife, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management or equivalent
• A Masters’ Degree in Environmental Science, Education or a relevant field of study
• Studying towards PhD and/possession of an MBA or Strategic Management would he an added advantage
• At least 10 years experience in a similar capacity
• Knowledge of the Parks and Wildlife Act
• Knowledge of meaningful stakeholder participatory approaches
• Good analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
