Key Responsibilities
- Services and repairs EPI cold chain equipment in the province.
- Monitors the functionality of the cold chain equipment and EPI generators.
- Maintains an updated asset register and keeps record of all the serial numbers of Refrigerators in the province.
- Maintain cold chain equipment optimal.
- Design an annual cold chain equipment preventive and corrective maintenance plan for the province.
- Orders spare parts in liaison with district cold chain technicians and PEPIO.
- Participates in identifying equipment for boarding.
- Conducts quarterly inventory of equipment.
- Responds to alarms from the PVS expeditiously.
- Report writing on the state of equipment and submits to the PEPIO.
- Provide supportive supervision to district cold chain technicians.
- Provide on the job training to district cold chain technicians.
- Offers specifications on the equipment/supplies to be purchased to management
- Attends cold chain maintenance meetings and keeps abreast of new technology.
- Assists the Stores Officer in recording temperatures of refrigerators, cold rooms and freezer room twice daily including weekends and holidays.
- Any other related duties as assigned by the EPI Officer
Requirements
- Diploma in refrigerator maintenance including air conditioning /Class 1 Journeyman in refrigeration and air- conditioning
- Should have good knowledge of refrigeration
- Must have at least a traceable history of having dealt with cold rooms and freezer rooms.
- Should be computer literate.
