This is an on-site, full-time role based in Harare for a Clearing Agent. The Clearing Agent will be responsible for managing the customs clearance process for imported and exported goods. This includes preparing and verifying required documentation, coordinating with government agencies, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and resolving any clearance issues efficiently. The role also involves maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage import and export customs clearing processes
  • Prepare and submit customs documentation accurately and timeously
  • Liaise with ZIMRA and other regulatory authorities
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and clients
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and trade laws
  • Resolve clearance delays, inspections, and related issues
  • Maintain accurate shipment and clearance records

Requirements

  • Diploma in Customs Legislation and Procedures
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Clearing Agent in Zimbabwe
  • Thorough knowledge of customs clearance processes, regulations, and documentation
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for managing logistics and compliance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with government agencies, suppliers, and clients
  • Problem-solving abilities to efficiently handle clearance issues and ensure on-time deliveries
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology tools is an advantage
  • Familiarity with import-export laws and practices in Zimbabwe and surrounding regions
  • Proven work experience in customs brokerage or a related field
