VACANCY
REQUIREMENTS
-
A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Civil Engineering or structural Engineering from a reputable educational institution.
-
An HND in the relevant field is an added advantage.
-
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a local authority, government or parastatal organization.
-
Construction and traceable working experience is an added advantage.
-
Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD and any other drafting programme is an added advantage.
-
A clean class 4 driver’s license.
-
At least 30 years and above.
DUTIES
-
Supervising and monitoring project infrastructure developments within the district.
-
Coordinating road fund projects.
-
Ensuring maintenance of roads and designs.
-
Capturing, coordinating and ensuring works with outsourced contractors.
-
Control of infrastructure development according to designs.
-
Develop bill of quantities for specific projects.
-
Produce proposals for work budgets, work schedule and reports on projects.
-
Water design and maintenance.
-
Preparation of detailed Bills of Quantities for road rehabilitation or new construction.
-
Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
-
Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices and methods as applicable to government and Council settings, some knowledge of applicable Council policies, by-laws and regulations relating to infrastructure development.

Ability to analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geotechnical data to execute projects.

Ability to use a computer utilizing standard and specialized software e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D used in planning, modelling and design of civil infrastructure is a requirement.
