Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Works, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Duties And Responsibilities

Overseeing the daily operations of the Engineering Department sections and activities of subordinate staff.
• Direct supervision, certification of contracted works, monitoring, control of all council’s WASH and rood infrastructure projects as per set standards
• Project management of fiscal funded (Devolution and ERRP) and internal projects
• Preparation of annual plans, work schedules, progress and acquittal reports for management and public information systems.
• Computer skills in CAD, EPANET and MS packages
• Liason with council stakeholders and key partners
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver within tight deadlines.
• Performing any other duties assigned to by the Director of Works.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications and Attributes
• A Bachelors degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience preferably in a local authority or similar organizational operations.
• Professional membership with ZIE or ECZ will be an added advantage . A clean class four (4) driver’s license will be an added advantage.
