Summary

The position of a Child Mentor exists to promote the Spiritual Ministry of CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. The main duty of the incumbent is counselling of children. This responsibility entails creating and maintaining a child friendly environment for both caregivers and children. The Mentor’s position brings value to the organisation by promoting a Christian culture among coworkers, the children, their parents/guardians and the wider community.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

Counselling of children; Praying with the children; Forming mentoring relationships with the children; Creating a child friendly environment for the children and caregivers; Reading and narrating Bible stories; Creating and maintaining a safe, clean environment for the children; Promote a Christian culture within the playroom and playground through videos, movies, games and songs; Be able to share the gospel with the children using materials that appeal to them; Compilation of weekly and monthly reports; Be an active participant in the spiritual life of the Hospital.

Qualification and experience

Diploma in Education, Christian Ministry / or equivalent; Previous experience in a similar position; Ability to manage multiple tasks within a given time frame; Character reference letter a must.
