Chief Technician (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
• Preparing financial budgets for the department.
• Purchasing departmental equipment, reagents and consumables.
• Supervision of junior staff and coordinating students’ practicals.
• Arranging field trips and managing departmental vehicles.
• Production of lab manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Organizing and checking x-ray reports.
• Practical instructions to students.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
Applicants must possess the following:
• A Master of Science degree in Food Science, Applied Biological Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field.
• Five Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics and English Language.
• A minimum of five years working experience in a research laboratory is essential.
• Be highly self-motivated.
