Our client in the mining industry seeks to engage the services of a dynamic, self-driven, qualified, and seasoned individual for the above vacancy that has arisen within the organization. The incumbent will be part of the executive team, responsible for driving the organizations business model toward achieving the required objectives in terms of exploration, recovery efficiencies, equipment capacity utilization and safety.

Job Purpose and Description
⦁ Reporting to the CEO, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of strategies, policies and procedures that ensure stability, growth, and sustainability of the organisations operations.
⦁ Superintends over the operations team towards achieving set production goals, objectives and targets.
⦁ Oversees the formulation and compilation of budgets to meet the capital and operational requirements for all portals as well as extending Life of Mine (LOM) through continual exploration.
⦁ Ensures that all operations adhere to statutory and corporate requirements and standards.
⦁ Oversees all new mining projects to ensure timely and within budget completion.
⦁ Develops technical capabilities and supports strategies towards value attainment and operational best practice through the modernisation of all mine operations.
⦁ Produces business performance review information and mitigatory measures for distribution to all users across the business

Person Specifications
⦁ Must have a relevant Mining/Processing/Geology/Engineering Degree or equivalent.
⦁ Membership to a recognized professional association or board.
⦁ At least 10 years of proven experience in a similar leadership role in a mining or related environment; of which 5 years should be at the senior management level.
⦁ Exceptional team management skills.
⦁ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
⦁ Sound analytical skills using relevant tools to aid executive decision-making.
