VACANCY
JOB PURPOSE
Is responsible for the coordination and execution of topographical and engineering surveys, and cadastral surveys. Implements performance management and administration for the effective deployment of resources to survey field teams.
KEY RESULT AREAS
* Maintains equipment store for the Land Survey Section.
* Distributes and allocates survey equipment and resources for field observations and data gathering
* Ensure vehicles allocated to the section are in a good state of repair and service
* Liaises with the Department of Surveyor General and other relevant stakeholders for acquisition of data searches.
* Executes survey field work for cadastral, topographical and engineering surveys,
* Carries out computations and reductions of observations for the preparation and production of relevant plans and documents.
* Checks plans prepared from topographical and engineering surveys and oversees the filing thereof,
* Recommends budgetary and equipment requirements to the Land Surveyor/Senior
* Implements performance management and supervises subordinates.
* Assists in training and orientation of graduate Land Surveyors, Land Survey Technicians, Survey Field Assistants (Operators) and Vacation students.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics and English Language is a must; passes in ‘A’ Level Science subjects are an added advantage
* A National Diploma in Surveying and Geomatics, or acceptable equivalent from a recognized institution is a must.
* A Higher National Diploma or a degree in Surveying and Geomatics or acceptable equivalent from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
* At least seven (7) years relevant post qualification working experience,
* Experience in the use of optical, electronic and GNSS survey equipment.
* Sound knowledge of Survey Calculations and Computer Aided Design software.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (SIZ, ZIG, ZIE) is a must
* A clean class 4 (or superior) driver’s license is a must
