Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vacancy

The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (ZPSL) is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and visionary leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. The ZPSL is the top tier of professional football in Zimbabwe, and we are dedicated to advancing the sport’s quality, commercial viability, and integrity. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the league into a new era of growth and success.

Job Purpose:

Provide strategic leadership to ensure the league’s efficiency, financial sustainability, and brand integrity. Act as the primary liaison among clubs, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The CEO will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and operational efficiency of the ZPSL.

Key Duties Include:

– Advise the Board on strategic decisions and policy-making, ensuring alignment with the league’s long-term vision and objectives.
– Oversee all league operations including scheduling fixtures, managing player transfers, enforcing disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with league regulations.
– Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies and performance frameworks to enhance the league’s competitiveness and visibility.
– Secure sponsorships and broadcasting deals by engaging potential partners, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong relationships to boost revenue streams.
– Ensure financial sustainability through meticulous budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control measures.
– Promote the league’s brand through targeted marketing campaigns, public relations initiatives, and digital media engagement.
– Maintain governance standards by implementing transparent policies, monitoring compliance, and fostering collaborative stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

– A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field. (A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.)
– 5–10 years in senior/executive roles, ideally in sports or corporate sectors.
– Track record in securing sponsorships and managing budgets.
– Deep understanding of football locally and globally.
