VACANCY
JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent shall provide visionary and strategic leadership to the organization to ensure maximum contribution to the national and sub-regional economy through the provision of efficient, reliable and cost effective bulk freight rail passenger and related services, ensuring full compliance with all regulations and corporate governance framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES
i. To act as the accounting officer of the entire NRZ operations to the Government of Zimbabwe.
ii. To give visionary and strategic direction in the NRZ’s turnaround programme while positioning it to the cutting edge of national rail industry in the region.
iii. To ensure compliance with the Railways Act (Chapter 13:09); Public Finance Management Act (Chapter 22:19) and other applicable government instruments.
iv. To lead, motivate, supervise staff, build and maintain effective and efficient human, material and time plans for the organization.
v. To develop and implement robust and effective turnaround and stakeholder management strategies, including risk and change management.
vi. To develop and implement modern management techniques in planning and implementation.
vii. To implement policies and procedures for the efficient running of the organization.
viii. To report to the Board of Directors in line with the organization’s corporate governance framework.
ix. To ensure the day to day operations of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a relevant Technical or Management Bachelor’s Degree.

Possession of an MBA/MBL/MPA/MMS in Strategic Management or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Professional qualification in transport, logistics management, or transport/ logistics will be an added advantage.

Full member of a recognised professional body.
PROFESSIONAL EXPIRIRENCE
-
A minimum of 10 years of progressive senior management experience, with at least 5 years in a similar position, preferably in a large and complex organization.

Demonstrable experience in the transport or logistics sector, with particular reference to railways, will be an added advantage.

Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure, turnaround strategies, and stakeholder management.

Strong financial, strategic, and resource management skills.
-
Experience in corporate governance and compliance.
-
Experience in managing capital budgets and financial probity.
