About the Organisation

World Mental Resilience Program (WMRP) was founded and formed as a response to the cognitive incapacitation and self-reliance incapacitation of the communities in developing countries in the face of rising cases of mental health breakdowns. The effects of the financial instabilities in developing countries and the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown measures saw skyrocketing unemployment statistics, loss of business and income generating opportunities in a wider scale. These events continue to demolish to the core, the cognitive capacity and the self-reliance capacity of the affected communities in developing countries. The access to essential livelihood needs such as food, health services and shelter continue to become dye as the majority of the affected individuals and families cannot afford adequate food, proper health services and proper standard shelter.

World Mental Resilience Program (WMRP) a groundbreaking organisation in Zimbabwe, seeks to recruit key individuals from its active members who would spearhead the organisation in achieving its vision in the promotion and facilitation of primary prevention of mental health breakdowns in communities as well as spearheading the recruitment exercise for the upcoming Save Humanity – A Fight for Humankind five (5) years program.

WMRP strategic plan for the next five years (2021 to 2026) is based on six empowerment pillars: Mental Wellness Empowerment, Behaviour Modification Empowerment, Enterprise Empowerment, Food Security and Nutrition Empowerment, Shelter and Safety Empowerment and Academic Empowerment.

Job Summary

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for supervising and controlling all strategic and business aspects of the organisation. He/she will be the first in command in the organisation and responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for the success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high quality organisation strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
• Lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement and to develop a high performing managerial team
• Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
• Make high-quality investment decisions to advance the organisation and increase its impact to the communities
• Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the organisation’s legality and organisation ethics
• Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
• Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for all donors
• Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure organisation survival and growth

Key Requirements

• Must be a registered WMRP CAM
• Proven experience as CEO or at least five years’ experience at an NGO senior management level position
• The CEO must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader
• Experience in developing community development strategies and implementing vision
• Strong understanding of NGO finance and performance management principles
• In-depth knowledge of NGO governance and general management best practices
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills
• Demonstrate strong vision and business focus
• Resilient leader with human perspective in mind
• A postgrad degree in Social Sciences, Accounting, Economics, Law, MBA or equivalent from reputable institute of higher learning
