JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for leading, managing and developing strategic framework for electrical, electronics and mechanical engineering for designs, selection, installation, servicing, repairs and maintenance of electrical, electronics and mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring optimum plant and equipment availability for City of Harare’s operations.

KEY RESULT AREAS

. Formulates and reviews policies, strategies, procedures and systems for the Electrical & Mechanical Services Division.
. Planning, organising and allocation of resources for Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Services operations and programs.
. Approves and performs due diligence on procurement processes regarding designs and specifications relating to electrical and mechanical installations, vehicles, plant and equipment including spare parts.
. Prepares and manages the Division’s capital and revenue budgets and forecasts.
. Ensures safe working environments in line with the Factories and Works Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Environmental Management Act.
. Robust controls and asset management.
. Contracts Management.
. Co-ordination of various sectors.
. Revenue generation initiatives.
. Supervision and Performance monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

. A relevant post graduate qualification is a requirement OR a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years experience.
. Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.
. Corporate Membership of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers or other relevant institution.
. At least five (5) years working experience at middle management level in a similar Engineering environment.
