Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance with the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
  • University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
  • Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialisation, which benefits both the students and the University.

  • The successful candidate must be capable of teaching modules in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Thermodynamics principles, and related modules.
  • The candidate should also be capable of assisting undergraduate students and assessing students on Work Related Learning.

Requirements

  • A first degree in Applied Chemistry or a related field with at least a 2.1 pass
  • A relevant MSc degree
  • A relevant PhD will be an added advantage for Lecturer
  • Experience as a Lecturer/Tutor/Researcher at an institution of Higher Learning will be an added advantage.
  • Evidence of research output in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.
