Key Responsibilities

• Prospect, solicit and secure new business to meet revenue targets.
• Receive bereaved clients with kindness and compassion.
• Introduce families to the consultant responsible for arranging the funeral.
• Work closely with morticians to ensure the deceased is washed, dressed, and clothed with dignity, using garments provided by family members.
• Inform families about changes that may occur to the deceased’s body after embalming or other chemical treatments.
• Facilitate private body viewing sessions for close relatives before opening to the wider family.
• Ensure strict adherence to daily funeral programs, managing chapel schedules to avoid confusion or delays.
• Preach at funerals when families do not have a designated preacher, keeping sermons concise (maximum 10 minutes).
• Create a conducive environment for family-appointed preachers to minister effectively.
• Provide emotional guidance and answer questions about the deceased’s body on behalf of morticians and consultants.
• Conduct follow-up visits to bereaved families at their homes within a week to offer comfort and support.
• Counsel employees facing socio-economic challenges.
• Visit sick staff members at their homes to provide encouragement and support.
• Lead daily morning prayers to foster a positive and spiritually uplifting workplace culture.

Requirements

• Degree in Theology or any related field.
• Valid Class 2/4 driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ministry, pastoral care, or a related field.
• Experience in conducting funeral services, memorial services, or similar rites is essential.
