Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production, has exciting and challenging career opportunities at its Smelter in Kwekwe. Applications are invited from
suitably qualified, competent and experienced persons to fill the following positions on a fixed term contract basis.
Casting Bay Relief – General
Grade : FA 3
Duties And Responsibilities
• Directing the crane driver to lift and lower different loads, hooking and unhooking the lifting tools
• Stripping ingots from chillmoulds and placing them on pallets
• Taking ingots on pallets to quench ponds and taking them out when they are cold to the slag de-cap area
• Cleaning quench tanks
• Moving chill mould mix pan, and mud gun mix pan
• Replacing chill mould lip using chains
• Bringing new tapping bars and removing used residual tapping bars from the casting bay using chain slings or beam
• Checking D-Shackle latches, hinges, hammerlocks, chains, slings, lugs, tongs and bridles before use to avoid tool failure
Qualifications And Experience
• At least one year casting bay working experience
• Prior acting /relief experience will be a distinct advantage
• Highly commendable safety & disciplinary record
• Punctuality and good communication skills
