Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced .NET developer for creating and maintaining data collection forms and reports for a large community-based public health study. Qualified individuals must have experience in object-oriented programming and relational database development (SQL). The position reports to the Senior Systems Analyst/Database Developer

Duties And Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining database software for managing research studies and other specialized software programs. Generate scheduled and ad-hoc reports from the databases as required.

Other duties:

Provide general IT support to research data collection operations with occasional travel to the field sites. The individual will be expected to be proactive in self-learning and may be asked to attend short-term classes to strengthen specific skills.

Qualifications And Experience

Candidates must possess a university degree in the field of computer science, information systems or software engineering and at least 5 years related experience.

Knowledge and Experience
• ASP.NET Framework

 Proficiency with ASP.NET CORE and ASP.NET Web Forms Development
 Proficiency with .NET Datasets and Entity Framework
 Strong C#.NET Language skills

• Web development

 General programming experience: design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, documentation
 Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
 UI development: Basic understanding of CSS frameworks for responsive design (Bootstrap preferred), JavaScript, AND HTML
 IDE, code editor, and repository experience (Visual Studio, VS Code, Github)
 RESTful APIs – development and implementation
 Report creation

• MS SQL SERVER 2016/2019/2022: writing CRUD queries and stored procedures
• Experience with other relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle)
• Advanced SQL Server, database modeling, table/view design, triggers, database management
• Offline data collection experience using Open Data Kit (ODK)
• User Support (Including Hardware support)

Additional Experience:

• IIS: Configuration and Management, domains, DNS, SSL certs
• Research/Science/Public Health data collection
• Experience with Statistical analysis platforms, R studio or STATA are an added advantage
