Job Expired

Background to the Project

Established in 1992, UNDP-Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEFSGP) provides financial and technical support to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people’s well-being and livelihoods. Small Grants Programme (SGP) is rooted in the belief that local actions can contribute to addressing global environmental issues, while promoting sustainable local livelihoods and empowering local communities. SGP supports community-based approaches under 5 thematic areas that include biodiversity, climate change, land degradation, chemicals and international waters.

This Call for proposals seeks to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment and is therefore targeting women-led projects or projects from women organizations. – Conservation of threatened species through forest regeneration, woodlots establishment and watershed protection.
– Protection of and sustainable use of wetlands and removal of alien species.
– Support for women entrepreneurship and income-generation opportunities for nature-based women-led enterprises.
– Support for value addition of agro-biodiversity products such as honey, crafts, juices and ginger.
– Support for diversification of livelihood options to improve food security through integrating crop and animal husbandry, fish farming, apiculture and conservation farming.
– Promotion of climate-smart agroecology, innovation and technologies that reduce pesticides use in agriculture.
