A Harare based manufacturing company is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill in the position of Buyer, reporting to the Purchasing Manager. Duties and Responsibilities include;
1. To support the Purchasing Manager with processing purchasing orders as needed.
2. To assist in buying materials from a wide range of suppliers as directed.
3. To assist in review and verification of orders using necessary documents.
4. To ensure that relevant documentation is available as required by cross functional departments.
5. To assist in ensuring that all departments are well furnished with information on material movements for planning purposes in liaison with the Shipping Officer.
6. To ensure that Order Special Conditions are communicated in writing to suppliers once every year and a record of the signed acknowledgement by the supplier are filed.
7. To create and maintain departmental files as needed.
8. To ensure that all printed packaging materials (new and existing) are filed and in place before placing orders.
9. To assist in following up orders when required.
Qualification and Attributes
Ø Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Procurement & Logistics
Ø A qualification in Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is an added advantage
Ø A Master’s Degree is an added advantage
Ø Computer proficiency.
Ø Two-years pharmaceutical/food/chemical manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage
Ø Honesty
Ø Age range 25-35 years.
