Business Manager – Manufacturing Operations (Toilet Tissue & Water Bottling)
Location: Masvingo, Zimbabwe
Reporting to: Managing Director / Board of Directors
Industry: FMCG – Paper Products & Bottled Water
Job Purpose
To lead and optimize the end-to-end operations of toilet tissue and water bottling manufacturing units, ensuring profitability, compliance, and operational excellence. The role demands strategic oversight, hands-on leadership, and a strong grasp of production, sales, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
• Oversee daily production activities for both toilet tissue and water bottling lines
• Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance
• Ensure hygiene, safety, and environmental standards are strictly followed
Financial Oversight
• Develop and manage operational budgets and cost controls
• Track production costs, margins, and profitability across both product lines
• Prepare monthly performance reports for executive review
Sales & Distribution
• Drive B2B and retail sales strategies for both products
• Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and institutional clients
• Oversee logistics and inventory management to ensure timely delivery
Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure products meet ZIMRA, EMA, and Ministry of Health standards
• Maintain up-to-date licenses, inspections, and certifications
• Lead internal audits and implement corrective actions
People & Performance
• Supervise production supervisors, machine operators, and delivery teams
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
• Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or Production Management
• 5+ years in FMCG manufacturing, preferably in paper or beverage sectors
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and dual production lines
• Familiarity with Zimbabwean regulatory and labour frameworks
