VACANCY: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE OFFICER
BASIC PURPOSE
The Business Intelligence Officer plays a key role in helping Chevron Tobacco Company make smarter, data-driven decisions across departments. The role focuses on turning raw data into actionable insights that improve efficiency, profitability, compliance, and competitive positioning.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collect and integrate data from multiple sources, including databases and ERP systems.
• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can guide business decisions and strategy.
• Deliver data-driven projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely and accurate insights.
• Build and maintain BI dashboards and reports to track KPIs and measure business performance against goals.
• Apply statistical analysis, forecasting, and scenario modelling to support business planning.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Agronomy, and Export units to ensure BI insights are embedded in daily decision-making.
• Continuously improve BI tools, processes, and methods to enhance business performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR equivalent practical experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or strategy execution.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or strategy execution projects.
• Hands-on experience delivering BI solutions in agriculture, tobacco, FMCG, finance, or export focused industries is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and Advanced Excel.
• Strong grasp of statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate operational and financial performance.
• Proven ability to manage BI or analytics projects from concept to delivery.
• Track record of implementing data projects that improved performance, compliance, or profitability.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering business value.
