Cassava Smartech is looking for competent Business Development Managers to complement its Insuretech team. The main purpose of the role is to acquire, grow and retain profitable lines of business that contribute to the overall achievement of business strategy, market share and opportunity conversion while anchoring the business client relationship management activities that enhance the business competitive edge.
Duties And Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Drive business growth through the elaboration of business development plans, design and implement processes that enhance the business competitive edge and maximise return on investment.
• Build and maintain sustainable proactive client relationship management strategies and initiatives that drive growth of the business cliental base.
• Create and implement a Business Development Plan that contributes to the achievement of business growth strategies and objectives.
• Champion and embed best practice business development methodologies, processes and systems across the business.
• Lead on market research and analysis, providing insight to the Leadership team to identify and exploit new market opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Partner with Sales Team Leads to drive the opportunity pipeline for cross and upsell of business product lines, including identifying commercially viable bid opportunities for potential and existing client base.
• Collaborate with Team Leads in business development activities for high value and/or strategically important opportunities, including attending client meetings and participating in contractual and commercial negotiations.
• Identify, develop and implement digitisation opportunities for enabling continuous improvement of business processes and systems, ensuring opportunities for innovation are identified and colleagues are empowered to drive change.
• Track, measure and analyse client feedback to enhance client engagement, opportunity conversion and client entricity initiatives.
• Ensure company dashboards and digital platforms are fit for purpose, including leading the development of new systems as required, and that processes are established for recording up to date market intelligence and client data
• Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualification, Skills and Experience
• MBA or equivalent.
• Insurance/Pensions qualification or related (e.g. Actuarial) a must.
• At least 5 years’ experience at Senior Management level in a similar or Consulting role.
• At least 5 years’ experience in business development/sales and marketing in a comparable professional environment is essential, including overseeing large, complex bid work.
• Proven ability and achievements in developing and embedding strategic and tactical business development methodologies systems and processes at an organisation level, acting as a champion for change.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret and make recommendations/decisions based on data
• Full comprehension of the relevant laws and statutes governing the Insurance and Pensions industry inclusive of demonstrated client relationship management skills.
• Strong client orientation and service delivery approach, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority
• Honest, Innovative, adaptable and agile.
