JOB DESCRIPTION
Based in Zimbabwe-Harare
The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) of Zimbabwe and one of its key technical assistance partners, Vital Wave, are looking for a business analyst to ensure the alignment of business and operational processes, software development, and solution rollout for a health information software solution currently being deployed nationwide. This role is part of an initiative in which Vital Wave will provide targeted technical assistance (TA) to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) in Zimbabwe to build a strong foundation for interoperable health information systems (HIS), support the government’s unified vision for near real-time, patient-level data, and improve health services for critical programs including HIV/AIDS through its Impilo Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
The individual would join an existing project team and work under the direction of Vital Wave and the MoHCC. This person will identify gaps in current processes and help identify both process and technical solutions that could help address these gaps in the context of the software deployment roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the MoHCC team and existing partners to establish business process requirements in line with solution deployment goals identified in the software development roadmap
- Review and analyze existing business processes of the software development team with respect to solution governance, facility training, and data use and identify current gaps
- Determine strategies for closing identified gaps in business processes and practices across key technical assistance packages and programmatic workstreams
- Communicate business requirements and needed action steps to software development team and MoHCC technical and programmatic partners
- Conduct visits to health facilities and administrative offices as needed to gather inputs for business and technical requirements
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in performing business analysis for health software development projects
- Experience working with software developers and in software development operations and understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience using business analytical tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to participate in calls and meetings outside of regular business hours (e.g., in the evening
