Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the successful candidate shall, inter alia, be responsible for the following:

• Operating the bus safely, driving accordingly on designated routes and schedules, and complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure safe and reliable travel for all passengers.

• Driving passengers to destinations on time and safely, while providing good customer service.

• Assisting in loading and off-loading passengers’ luggage and ensuring its safety.

• Achieving the set and agreed revenue targets.

• Regularly checking for defects and reporting any maintenance required on the bus.

• Keeping the bus clean and tidy.

• Adhering to bus timetables by ensuring timely arrivals and departures, while managing delays or disruptions.

• Supervising the bus conductor to ensure all revenue (bus fares) is collected.

• Performing any other relevant duties that may be assigned, relevant to the responsibilities of a bus driver.

Qualifications and Experience

• Clean Class 1 driver’s licence.

• Valid medical certificate.

• Valid Driver’s Defensive Certificate (DDC).

• Three years’ driving experience.

• Knowledge of road safety regulations and routes.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
