Our client, a Catholic Institution situated in Highfield – Harare, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Bursar.
Duties And Responsibilities
• In consultation with the Headmaster and Responsible Authority, lead the financial planning for the school through the preparation of regular reports and forecasts.
• Monitor the School’s bank account, cash handling (collections and disbursements, banking and security) & take responsibility for monthly reconciliation of the accounts.
• Develop and maintain sound financial accounting systems and ensure that sound book-keeping and accounting procedures are followed.
• Provide the relevant authorities with comprehensive, accurate, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the school.
• Ensure all statutory requirements are met such as PAYE, NSSA, Income Tax (where applicable), in accordance with regulatory regulations.
• Managing, supervision and welfare of all non-teaching staff in accordance with terms and conditions of service, and Zimbabwe Labour Law regulations.
• Supervision of accounting and administration staff.
• Managing assets and maintaining stock control system.
Qualifications And Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Science or related field.
• Membership with an Accounting Board such as CIMA, CIS, ACCA.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial management environment.
• High levels of integrity and computer literacy.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, Payroll Management, and use of Pastel Accounting System.
• Demonstrated experience in complying with Ministry of Education specific reporting requirements.
