BUILDING TECHNICIAN (GRADE 8)
The Building Technician reports to the Engineer

Requirements

1. National Diploma in Construction Technology or equivalent.
2. Bricklayer class 1.
3. Riders Certificate.
4. 3 years of experience.

MAJOR DUTIES

1. Conducting Building inspections to ensure that buildings under construction are in accordance with the approved plans and comply with the model building by-laws and regulations.
2. Attend to queries from residents on matters concerning staid boundaries and other building matters.
3. Service notices to owners of illegal buildings/structures and make follow-ups to ensure compliance.
4. Assist in compiling statistical tenons.
5. Performing other duties as directed by council.
